I design repeat patterns for printed textiles.  My designs are all about color.  The simple shapes create beautiful focal points and the color adds vibrancy to a space.  I have an exceptional eye for color, pattern mixing and a natural ability to visualize designs.  My patterns are created using specific color palettes and printed on materials that further enhance color and create texture.

INSPIRATION

I believe color and beauty are essential to the human experience.  Color creates life, appreciation and joy.  Beauty stops us and brings us into the present.   Both give us hope, can lift our moods, and bring life to our homes and day.

BACKGROUND

I didn’t know I was an artist until I turned 40!  I worked as a residential interior designer for 18 years. During that time I worked with pattern and color daily.  My patterns are uniquely suited for home fashions because of my extensive background in interiors.  I have industry specific knowledge of product specifications and installation considerations.  I’ve also worked directly with clients and know what they’re looking for.

AWARD WINNING DESIGN
I’ve always been drawn to fabric design and won a furniture design competition for my use of pattern mixing.  I have a passion for the arts, I studied studio art, art history, photography, architectural history and film in university.  I have loved to draw since I was a child.  My dad is a photographer and encouraged my interest in the medium from a young age.

PROCESS
I find inspiration all around me.  I see patterns in almost everything from food to my daily walks.  I use photography to capture shapes then illustrate them by hand using paper and ink.  I then create a digital pattern using the drawing as a foundation. I am proficient in adobe illustrator and all of my designs are vector based.

CONTACT
I am interested in home fashion and lifestyle brand collaborations.  My designs are available for licensing.  Please contact me via email with any interest and thanks for reading!
